An easy way to preserve your herbs for the winter months:
Place 2 cups of herb of choice in blender with..
1/2 cup olive oil
2 to 3 cloves garlic
1 cup of water or you can play with lime juice too!
Pour into cupcake tins (1/2 full) and freeze. After frozen, pop them out and put in labeled freezer bag to be used whenever you need. Very easy to incorporate into your foods!

Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids!

Healthy Snack Ideas!
Hummus with sliced veggies or fruit
Sliced apples/pears with almond/cashew/organic peanut butter
Lettuce roll ups with guacamole/salsa/beans/org. corn
Popcorn! Making sure it’s ORGANIC; otherwise it will be GMO corn.
Fruit Kabobs with yogurt as dip Veggie Kabobs
Make your own popsicles…
Orange Cream Popsicles Recipe
2 oranges peeled and cubed 2 cups of plain, nonfat organic yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla
Puree in blender and place in molds.
Blueberry Pops
1 pint fresh blueberries 3 one inch slices of zucchini or cucumber
A few spinach leaves 1 cup of Vanilla almond milk
1 cup of low fat vanilla organic yogurt
Puree in blender and place in molds.
Curious George Slush (Be creative with your smoothies)
½ cup natural pineapple-coconut juice (unsweetened)
½ cup water 1 frozen banana
3 one inch slices of zucchini 6 ice cubes
Give the ingredients a ride in the blender. When smooth, pour and drink!
Crusoe’s South Seas Smoothie
½ cup of almond, hemp or rice milk 1 cup of lowfat organic blueberry yogurt
¼ cup natural pineapple-coconut juice 2 one inch slices of cucumber and/or zucchini
2 to 4 ice cubes
Give this all a whirl in the blender. Serve in tall glasses. Sprinkle with unsweetened coconut, if you like!
Jumbo’s Delicious Dip
½ cup of almond, cashew or organic peanut butter (room temp.)
½ cup of lowfat plain organic yogurt 1 tablespoon organic agave
Blend ingredients together and serve with celery, carrots, peppers, sliced apples or pears.
Frozen Yogurt Treats
Place yogurt of choice in plastic bag and snip corner. Make drops on baking sheet with waxed paper and freeze. When frozen place in container!

Raw Recipes:
No-Bean Hummus
2 zucchini, peeled and chopped ¾ cup tahini
½ cup fresh lemon juice ¼ cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic, peeled 2 tsps. Seasalt
½ Tblsp. ground cumin
In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine all the ingredients and blend until thick and smooth.
Thai Cabbage Salad
1 head of cabbage, chopped like slaw 1 garlic clove
1 red pepper, chopped 3 carrots, shredded
½ cup sliced lengthwise scallions
1 inch piece of fresh ginger ½ cup red wine vinegar
3 tbsps. Braggs Amino 2 tbsps. Agave
1/3 cup of raw almond butter
Prepare your cabbage, red pepper, carrots and scallions, toss in large bowl. In blender mix the remaining ingredients and pour over salad………toss well.
Herb Pesto
1 cup pine nuts or raw walnuts, soaked overnight, then rinsed
3 cups chopped fresh basil, lemon balm, etc.
5 cloves garlic
¾ cup olive oil
1 tsp. sea salt
Combine all ingredients in a blender or a food processor and puree until smooth.
Truffles J
In its raw form, cacao contains many beneficial rejuvenating and anti-aging elements, including antioxidants, magnesium, and the beauty mineral sulfur. Another key ingredient, coconut butter, is a cold pressed, cholesterol-free oil that stimulates thyroid function, increases metabolism and promotes weight loss.INGREDIENTS
¾ cup raw cacao powder (available at health stores)
2 cups ground raw almonds
¾ cup raw agave nectar (a low-glycemic plant sweetener)
1 Tbs. organic coconut butter (sometimes called oil)
Pinch of Celtic sea salt
1 cup shredded, dried unsweetened coconut flakes
INSTRUCTIONS
“Combine all the ingredients except for the coconut flakes in a large bowl and mix thoroughly,” “Roll up your sleeves, take a small amount of the mixture, and roll small balls between your palms. Dip each ball in a separate smaller bowl containing the coconut flakes.”
“Freeze overnight to harden the truffles-I keep them frozen until they’re ready to serve. Enjoy!”
Tortilla Soup
3 cups water 1 carrot
1 tomato 1 rib celery
1 thin slice onion 1 garlic clove
1 thin slice squash 1 thin slice red pepper
1 thin slice cabbage ½ jalapeno
Season with cumin, chili powder or whatever you might enjoy.
Optional: ¼ cup olives, ¼ cup corn, ¼ cup tortilla chips
Raw Butternut Squash Soup
3 cups butternut squash, peeled and cubed
1 mango, cubed
2 tspns. Curry
4 cups orange juice
½ cup dates
½ tsp. chopped jalapeno peppers – optional
Blend in blender until smooth and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh mint, sliced bananas or mango.
